the journey of this song has been a long and precious one. it started at the 2023 sounds from a safe harbour residency and festival, gradually growing with every artist joining in singing or performing on it. slowly adding more layers, more love, with a rotating cast of performers – family, friends – singing together in lobbies, on stages, on television and in the studio. the version released yesterday was recorded after eoin’s (talos) passing in august 2024 and features his lead vocals throughout. the beautiful choir, along with niamh regan and ye vagabonds, includes sandrayati, the staves, jfdr (jófríður ákadóttir), memorial, christof van der ven, laoise leahy and steph french.
i hope you enjoy this special song.

hey everyone,
there’s a lot to unpack here below so i’ll keep this short. 2025 is off it a roaring start. i’m back in iceland and the first new piece of music i’ve been hinting at here for a while is now out for all you to listen to. it’s a truly special one and it means a lot to me. there is a lot more new music coming in the next few weeks and months. this is only the beginning.
love,
óli

go n-éirí an bóthar leat
go raibh an ghaoth go brách ag do chúl
go lonraí an ghrian go te ar d’aghaidh
go dtite an bháisteach go mín ar do pháirceanna
agus go mbuailimid le chéile arís,
go gcoinní dia i mbos A láimhe thú.
❤️
may the road rise to meet you
may the wind be at your back
may the sun shine warm upon your face
may the rain fall softly on your fields
and until we meet again
may you keep safe
in the gentle loving arms of god.
